Fishing Report

Truckee River Fishing Report:
Fishing has been great on the Truckee! Get out and get your fish on.
Caddis, Little Yellow Stone, and PMD hatches have been consistent in the mornings and evenings.  Green Drakes have also been making occasional appearances. Productive nymphing during the day with stoneflies (#6-16), caddis(#10-14), Crayfish, and PMD (#14-16) patterns.
Water temps are something to keep an eye on this time of year.  If water temp hits 68 deg F, it's time to give the Truckee trout a break.  Catch and release mortality rates (trout) exponentially increase once water temps climb near 70 deg F.
Carp fishing has been great on the lower Truckee.  Carp of the Truckee are tricky to fool with flies, but a ton of fun to get after, and a great change of pace during the hot summer days.  Contact Arlo if interested in chasing these big golden beasts.

Pyramid Lake:
Trout fishing closes on June 30.  Fishing has been slow.  Best chances are to fish early mornings or evening hrs when sunlight is less intense.
